The Wisconsin Marathon was created to fill the need for a quality, spring time, long distance running event in the Midwest, specifically, the Chicago and Milwaukee areas. The idea was to create an event with a fun-filled atmosphere that was more about the joy of running, than the stress of competition. With the help of the Kenosha Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, a race location was found, and the Wisconsin Marathon was born.
The Owners and Directors of the Wisconsin Marathon have been heavily involved in the Running Industry since 1987. Runners and endurance athletes themselves, they know what it’s like to train and race, and they know what participants are looking for before, during, and after the race. Our crew and race day staff have been organizing and helping at events for many years and we feel we have the best race team in the area!
The Wisconsin Marathon is also grateful to the Kenosha Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of Kenosha, whom has been behind the idea of putting on this event from Day One, and has been very helpful in making sure the race is a success.
The Wisconsin Marathon would also like to thank the residents of Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie for their support of the race and the runners.
